Thank you soooooo much Stu to bring such clarity through the myst of all these awkward tips, which always seemed to be very "artificial" to me. And this tucked right arm, flex left wrist appeared to me very very confusing and painful for my old joints 🤣. I confess I tend to believe there is a true legitimacy when I watch coachs like Danny. Who, by the way is giving also sometimes some good tips. But since I discovered your videos I enjoy that you always bring problems back to their roots and let each one of us with a better understanding of our own particularities and abilities. (Apologies if my english is not accurate enough to give a perfect appreciation of my thoughts). Great way to coach !!! 🙏😎

Would'nt this slowing down to catch up decrease your potential max swing speed though? It would be great if you could still swing through with full force and yet have some way to straighten up before impact? Strong right hand coming through maybe? (Yes, I have commented almost the same thought in another thread) I mean: you should be able to hit it even longer if you could somehow pull all the way through, would'nt you? How do Long drivers do this? Great work with the channel! 🙂

With the driver: Cant you just push more with your right hand when approaching the ball to make the club head speed up and catch up to your hands? Or is that to heavy for the wrists? Lika a top shot in tennis if you know what I mean? Maybe its impossible to time correctly though? Or just use a completely different technique with the driver, like owerswing it a'la Daly to get the club to start fast as hell and then have time to catch up 🙂

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching 3 часа назад

The top hand (lead hand) needs to stall, the trail hand won’t be able to shift the head in the time needed due to the amount of added acceleration the trail hand would need. Hope that helps Patrick.

OK im a self taught 5 hcp and think im similar to your set up ideas ie i have the ball forward But b4 starting golf @ 50 1i was reasonably good at other sports 2 i have worked hard on golf related coordination skill drills hardly anybody does this But every good golfer that ever lived can bounce a ball on a wedge! took me 6 weeks But most golfers especially over 14 hcp dont have the sporting ability or confidence to get to their lead side which is essential with a forward ball position Teaching my new GF yes with a forward ball position But she is a Salsa Dance teacher and ex county squash player!

Self taught 5 hcp, never taught golf but having to teach enthusiastic new GF! not watched set up vid but my take, 99% of Tour Pros set up with their left/lead eye at least looking at the back of the ball or way further back like Jack N but most golfers look at the ball with their right/trail eye, this makes a massive difference to set up Unfortunately the reason for this is that most people are right eye dominant! i hid this discussion a few years ago with my local assist +3 hcp Trey who didnt get it til he realised he was left eye dominant and now hes a star on Sky Sports Golf!

Hi Stuart, have watched & followed your videos for a few months now. Really liking and appreciate your content and instruction. The broom as an aid and visual is great - I tend to respond well to visuals. Would the broom be similar to a hammer held in the golf grip with the head rotated 90 degs to form a T-shape? Had used this imagery for a while to great success but over time from a nice draw I started having trouble squaring the face and got push slices. Would it make sense if this broom method requires more left arm supination (from delivery through impact) if someone is previously been using more wrists to get through the ball? I am right handed, play right handed but seem to swing better with left arm/hand feels.

Hi stu , early spring i started concentrating my swing on the action of just lifting my lead hand and then pulling it back down without any cupping or bowing in the wrists , i still allow the club to transition but concentrate on what feels like following the same path down as up , the takeaway for this action feels very much like the club is outside the line and it took me sometime to realise that because im turning the takeaway does in fact remain inside , i still feel like the face is open and make no effort to close it through impact it just closes on its own at a very predictable (the bottom)point . The only reason i mention is my takeaway trigger is like a half and half of your up down side to side , literally a down and into at just prior closure . Im hitting like never before both on course at range out of fairway bunkers or rough . What your teaching here if properly grasped is transformative and so bloody easy 👍 Well done stu keep it up .

Stu, once again, you’re being contrary to what’s being taught by the vast majority of coaches. They teach the feeling of dragging the club head across the ground in your backswing by pulling the handle first and fast, NOT, lifting the club heard as the first move. I tried the drag method some years back and it was disastrous, my strike was all over the place, and so was the ball. I went back to lifting the club head as I turned and my striking improved exponentially. We amateurs need to be very careful who and where we get our lessons, tips and tricks from as, unfortunately, many YT coaches, not Stuart, are ruining our game. This is why Stuart said, some time ago, pick one YT coach, turn all others off, and follow him or her for a while to see if you improves, If not, move on to someone else. Or, do as Tiger said, stop watching YT golf and get proper lessons and practice. As always, Stu, thanks for the education. Cheers

GOLD… 7:00 , using my right foot to make my left foot feel light… WOW.. I’ve refined it as using my right heel to make my left foot feel light. ( the lifting the clubhead slightly allows the opposing heel burying force to happen easily). So much time to hit the ball… it’s like a mini or micro left step drill… sequencing is so much easier when you have pressured left early . Thanks.

Today I re-watched your tee shot videos again (probably my favourites) before a scratch match-play away match at The Merchants of Edinburgh (one of Edinburgh's quirkiest courses). Nice Stu, wonderful clarification of your trigger. I find triggers to be so important. For me I am triggering my action just after my eyes come back to the ball in my final measure. As an athlete we want to be alive at the ball, My action has already triggered prior to the club getting behind the ball. In that action it's left then right. If you consider that the action begins prior to the clubhead getting behind the ball then you realize that it's going in on plane and is simply extracted out on plane. Love your teaching just stimulating some thought.

Hi Stuart, great video as usual. As most amateur golfers know we very rarely strike the ball in the same spot on the club face but I have found with my own swing it can vary each round, so I have taken to warming up in the nets before a round & spraying the club face with foot spray, say 5 - 7- 9 - wedge & 3 wood, Driver Hitting 4 balls with each, it gives me an idea where I am striking that day & adjust my set up accordingly, it has started to pay off for me 🤞🏼 As you know we are never the same each day especially only playing once o twice a week. Keep up the great content

Good video.... i have to say some of the more recent comments dogging you wasnt very fair on these other videos. I think the issue is ppl see what your doing and saying pros dont do this or that. Example on this vid when we see your arms sticking out that far doesnt really happen on your actual swing so maybe to clarify is it more of a feeling? I see pros do certain moves b4 hitting the ball n it looks strange and animated and they sure dont do that exact move on the actual swing because its more of an exaggerated feeling to them. I don't really know for sure but maybe thats why ppl are negatively commenting. I like your style n teaching so keep it up. You do a great job of staying calm n kuddows for that from Texas!

Stuart, good video. This works--am hitting the golf ball straight. Had some difficulty transitioning to the release -- was pulling in to my body too far. Watched you video over many times and saw that you actually keep the handle at the same distance from your body but pull it down and to the left allowing the club head to square. Is this correct? also the broom put too much strain on my wrists, so started to use the orange whip which has a heavy club face and you can pull, stall and swing with it. Worked well, and then put it into practice with the driver and had success. Would appreciate you explaining the difference between angle of attack and loft. Also would appreciate your telling us how to use this technique consistently because I struggle with the timing as to when I should end the pull phase, stall and swing. Any tips on this? thanks again.

@@GoodGolfCoaching recommending driving the handle out with a open club face then to dumps the club down vertically with over active hands is a poor way to play golf. You will get away with it with shorter clubs but die with longer clubs. post any top pros swing on sports box AI and show me that. Hardest thing for most amatures is fixing the hand path that goes out in transition, you are promoting it. This is a silly video. no one teaches the stuff he is doing and he is exaggerating. Moving the arms down is a sergio, justin rose move in relation to what the body does too. Bryson does that too. he has just called 3 major winners garbage lol. Let me se what he is now going to talk about what he calls good stuff

Thanks for sharing your thoughts; always love hearing them. I won’t please everyone, but thanks for watching even though the vote was silly. Best wishes Stu

When you start with saying what they are teaching is garbage and dismiss coaches who have major winners its a red flag of someone who thinks too much of bs they are preaching. If uou ever talk to chris como or dana dalhquist they never dismiss others as idiots. They also will have a major issue with anyone advocating moving your hand path towatds the ball. Do you have a tour pro you teach. Forget major winners. Hardest thibg to fix is handpath in golf. Period. Shoving it out is a deadly sin.

You are more than welcome to disagree with me, and red flag my coaching. No issue at all. I wish you well my friend. Best wishes Stu

Spent the last couple of weeks watching loads of your videos. Your knowledge of the golf swing is amazing and your teaching is far better detailed than any other coach. I tried the strong grip and club release at strike on my game today and feel I'm on the road to much better golf.

Thanks for explaining this DS in detail. When I work on this at contact, I seem to stand up the club. I would be very interested in a part 2 to this video. Keep up these videos as they are very informative, helpful and eye opening.

@@GoodGolfCoaching, all the swing faults you described was spot on. My swing is to inside/out. There’s very limited videos to correct this, but more on outside/in. Thanks again, Stu. Looking forward to your next videos!!!!!
